Art Opening In Boston's South End

I'm excited to announce an art opening featuring my work in Boston's south end.  The show will be at Michelle Willey - an upscale home goods boutique store (www.michellewilley.com) from April 4th through May 24th.  The opening will be on April 10th from 6pm until 8pm at the store, food & Drink with a baseball theme.  This should be alot of fun and if you can make it out, I would absolutely love to see you there.  The show will consist of a variety of work, showcasing a number of players and teams around the majors.  The space itself is really cool, high ceilings,  partially exposed brick walls and large windows create a great contrast with the baseball work.  I really think it will bring a touch of class to my art.  If you have questions - please let me know and I will get back to you asap.

On a product note... I've now got offset posters made of three of my Phillies designs.  If you wanted an less expensive version of theses designs, now is your chance to pick one up.

Shepard Fairey @ the Boston ICA

I was fortunate enough to get myself tickets to attend Boston's Institute of Contemporary Art last night to see artist Shepard Fairey interviewed "moderator style".  Shepard is quickly becoming one of the worlds most famous contemporary artists, and one of my heros of screen-printing.  You may know his "Obey" Andre the Giant images or his now iconic Barak Obama imagery:

This was quite a thrill for me, and probably a once in a lifetime opportunity (shepard lives on the west coast).  The lecture was really great, filled with commentary on the art world the phenomenon of his work and politics in America today.

After the event, Shepard stuck around and actually signed something for everybody in the lecture hall.  Most people had prints of his work or books for him to sign.  I have a few Obey prints, mostly they come signed already so I was looking for something different to have him sign.  I figured something personal might be cool so I decided to ask him if he would sign the Squeegee that I use to create all my prints.  He loved it, and his wife who was there liked the idea even better.  We spoke for a minute about screen-printing, he shared a quick story and i moved along.  He was a really really great guy and from what I can tell is very down to earth.  I dont consider myself somebody who gets dazzled by celebrity sightings but this was a special thing for me.  I'm going to "retire" the squeegee, hang it in my studio as a little inspiration:

On a quick baseball note, I have two new designs that will be available in the next month or so.  Wrigley Field and Derek Jeter.  Currently they are going through the approval process at MLB.  I'm looking to expand to as many players and teams as possible so if you have suggestions about your favorite team, please let me know your thoughts!
